Adding Insult to Injury (Shaw)

I limped across the cracking concrete floor, my shoulder burning, yet it was not bleeding anymore. I hissed in pain as I slipped and put weight on the shoulder, dammit. Growling in frustration, I breathed heavily, trying to make it to the small concession stand on the OTHER side of the stadium. I needed a place to heal, away from prying eyes and hungry wolves. Shaw, my loving beta, was my only supporter and he deserved to be Beta. He had protected me from those vile creatures called humans...I once protected them!! Tears formed, I missed my owner, but I would never protect the humans I met the other day.

They had guns, and i have never in my life been shot before that day. Whimpering, I collapsed in the middle of the floor, body splayed out like I was a rug. Sighing, I needed to rest, my limbs tired, my head aching, my shoulder burning. Shifting my weight, I laid down, as comfortable as I could be, wondering when life would get easier. Humans spelled trouble, they did, but I wondered after the fight we had...would they come back? Were they stupid enough to think they could defeat us again?! We fought together, even though we were in opposing packs, and we protected our own. Canines ruled this city, and we were going to let the humans know it!!

Shaw had made it out of the human infested house without any sort of injury at all and that in itself was a miracle. His leader had been severely wounded and the other canine had been thrown about, but he himself had had absolutely no harm come to him. Perhaps the stars were on his side that day.

Unfortunately, Alarice had managed to get away from him before he could do anything about her injury and that would do nothing for the pack. Shaw growled in frustration and followed her scent towards the packlands. He didn't even need to keep sniffing around all that much, all he'd have to do was follow the blood trail and if that wasn't an indicator of how bad she fared then nothing was. Disgusting humans. The wolf thought bitterly. They hunted my kind and then they hunted my friend. They've no business here in the city. Reaching the steps of Wembly, he swiftly climbed up and into the stadium, using the height advantage of where he was to scan the over grown place for his leader.

Almost immediately he spotted her splayed out by the concession stand and he leapt down the steps to help her, going about as far and fast as his long legs would carry him. He reached her side and gave a worried bark before putting his nose against her side, feeling for life. She was breathing, but it was rather shallow. "Alarice, listen to me. I have to get you back to camp so that I can get the things I need to help you." He said sternly, maneuvering so that she could see him. Even if he had to drag her there against her will he was going to help her. "I'm gonna pick you up now. It might hurt, but try not to move."

He crouched down beside the black canine and grabbed her scruff, pulling her towards him while simultaneously moving his shoulder under her. This left her splayed on his back and he turned to carry her away, walking slow enough that she wouldn't fall off. "Hold onto my scruff if you have to." He said as he crossed the threshold of the stadium entrance.

I could hear someone approaching, but I was hurting so bad. My leg throbbed, my head spun, audits flickered as words were meeting them. Whimpering in response, I allowed the wolf to lift me and yelped loudly as I shifted on his back. Mother of all Gods, he was my hero but I would murder him if I fell off of him! His steps were slow, careful so I would not fall, and I appreciated that much at least. Shifting a bit, I spoke

You are lucky that I have no choice in this matter...any other male would be dead for picking my up the way you did

I laughed, a painful laugh but I was trying to look at the bright side...I had Shaw with me. My eyes slid shut and I breathed irregularly. My body was losing too much blood, I knew it was, and I was scared. Dying at the hands of humans would be a disgrace...I had once protected them with my own life

Her yelp of pain didn't physically affect him, but mentally it hurt. Shaw hated seeing those around him suffer, especially those he was close to, which made her agony only that much harder to handle. Despite the pain, the black german shepherd still had a bit of cheek left and he chuckled as he went. It was something, at least. It meant that she was hanging on. Unfortunately his knowledge of herbs was very limited, so he didn't quite know how long she'd be stable as there were very few healers around. Indeed it looked grim, but for the sake of his leader he'd never allow her to see the doubt in him.

Shaw chuckled. "Alarice, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind the ferocity of your spirit, but you're in no shape to be murdering anybody." As it was his leader was losing a lot of blood. He could feel it running down his back, but that was absolutely the least of his worries at the moment. "I'll get you help. Just hang on, alright?" The wolf said encouragingly as they passed through the forest, advancing as fast as they could without the female slipping off of his back.

I was simply losing consciousness, that was what was happening, and I whimpered. My body was on fire, the pain erupting through my shoulder again, and at his words, I grimaced. We needed help, and lots of it, for we were the only ones around, closest ones would be the other pack. Sighing, I knew the wolf had saved me, he had attacked the humans multiple times, but I was the one almost dying.

why? I had jumped in front of a bullet for Shaw, my loyal knight. Smiling, I looked around me, the sights beautiful, and I figured if I died, I was at least with the one who loved me. Wildlife paused around us, curious as to what was going on, but I did not give any answers. We needed a miracle...and i was not known to get many of those.

Shaw...am I going to die?

my voice was soft and held a lot of fear and pain, I was terrified of death...and it might just have a grip on me
