Soft pawsteps echoed down the hall, muddied white clashing with the dusty wood and metal flooring. red eyes gleamed against the darkness, catching what little light filtered through the windows covered with crossed wooden planks. a black nose pointed to the floor, following the scent of a rabbit he had chased into the large building, only to have found himself lost in the darkness of the foreign area. he tread with caution, keeping his pace slow and his steps quiet. he didn't know what this place was, but he could see why the hare would have ducked inside for escape. after all, he would have had a hard time getting through the door had it not been a double door with both already snapped away from its hinges and resting against the ground.
the canine paused, lifting his nose with black ears perking up, brushing against the faint outline of dark bone against the dusk surroundings. trickling? like that of water. slowly, he followed the sound, pausing his steps every now and again to make sure that he wasn't leading himself in the wrong direction. he brushed up against the inner wall of the building, using it as a means of easily locating turns. he had to pause once he found himself at a staircase leading into an abyss of darkness, and the husky mix let out a soft grunt of disapproval. he turned, pressing onward and away from the stairs, ignoring his disappointment of not being able to follow the trickling, the dripping. perhaps his prey had made it down the stairs and toward the sound; perhaps he was just looking for a reason to explore.
the young black and white dog could only halt his steps once more, red orbs following the thin trail of moonlight filtering in through a dusty, cracked window. hm, no. he wasn't looking for a broken let tonight.
ooc: dorky first post. i'll get used to him soon. <3
